Carolyn Allport

Carolyn Allport (c. 1950 - 16 January 2017) was an Australian historian, unionist, and activist. She served as an academic at Macquarie University for over twenty years. From 1994 to 2010, Allport held the position of National President of the National Tertiary Education Union, and she was also a member of the executive of the Australian Council of Trade Unions during some of that time. Notably, she represented the NTEU at OECD and UNESCO fora. Throughout her career, Allport made significant contributions to the field of history and played a vital role in advocating for the rights of union workers in Australia.
