Carolyn Bourdeaux
Carolyn Jordan Bourdeaux is an American educator and politician. Born on June 3, 1970, in Roanoke, Virginia, she served as the U.S. representative from Georgia's 7th congressional district from 2021 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, Bourdeaux was a professor at the Andrew Young School of Public Policy at Georgia State University for almost two decades, from 2003 to 2021. In 2018, she ran for Georgia's 7th congressional district, narrowly missing victory by only 433 votes. Bourdeaux ran again in 2020 and won, defeating Republican Rich McCormick. However, in 2022, she lost a redistricting race to fellow incumbent Lucy McBath in Georgia's 7th congressional district.
