Carter Michael

Carter Michael (born May 22, 2002) is an Australian rules footballer who currently plays for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was raised on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and began his football journey by participating in Auskick at the local level. Michael played junior and senior football with Maroochydore in the QAFL before being identified by the Brisbane Lions as a potential talent. He joined the Under 18 Brisbane Lions Academy at the age of 16 and went on to represent Queensland at the Under 17 level in the National Championships. Michael was selected by the Lions in the 2020 rookie draft and spent two years developing in the VFL with the Lions reserves. He made his AFL debut in round 17 of the 2022 season, scoring a goal in his first game.
