Carter Young
Carter Isaak Young (born January 24, 2001) is an American professional baseball shortstop currently playing in the Baltimore Orioles organization. Young started playing baseball at a young age and began switch hitting at age ten upon the suggestion of former MLB player Jay Gainer. He attended Selah High School in Selah, Washington, where he had an impressive career. In 2016, Young helped Selah win their first-ever state championship, and in 2018, he batted .412 with four home runs and 26 RBIs, earning him the title of Washington Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year. Young also represented the USA Baseball 15U and 18U National Teams, winning a bronze medal with the 15U team. Although he went undrafted in the 2019 MLB draft, Young matriculated to Vanderbilt University to continue his baseball career.
