Cass Robert Sunstein (born September 21, 1954) is an American legal scholar and author, specializing in constitutional law, administrative law, environmental law, and behavioral economics. He served as the administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2012. Sunstein was a professor at the University of Chicago Law School for 27 years, during which he wrote influential works on regulatory and constitutional law. Currently, he holds the position of Robert Walmsley University Professor at Harvard Law School. Sunstein's books, including The World According to Star Wars (2016) and Nudge (2008), have been New York Times best-sellers. He is recognized as the most frequently cited American legal scholar according to studies of legal publications in 2014.
