Chad Martin Hutchinson (born February 21, 1977) is a former American football quarterback and Major League Baseball pitcher. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears, and in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals. Hutchinson played college football at Stanford University. He began his football career late in high school, transitioning from outside linebacker to quarterback. Despite leading a run-oriented offense, he achieved a 50% completion average, 1,441 passing yards, and 8 touchdowns. Hutchinson was also an exceptional baseball player, earning the Gatorade National Baseball Player-of-the-Year award. He later pursued a career in professional football and baseball.
