Charlie Richards

Charlie Richards, born Charles Henry Richards on August 9, 1875, was a professional footballer from Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England. He began his career as an inside right with Gresley Rovers and later played for Newstead Byron before joining Notts County in July 1894. After 18 months, Richards transferred to Nottingham Forest, where he played for three seasons and made 74 league appearances, scoring 20 goals. In December 1898, he moved to Grimsby Town, where he played 80 league matches and scored 42 goals, helping the team win promotion to the First Division. In June 1901, Richards joined Leicester Fosse, making 25 appearances and scoring five goals in his one season with the club.
