Charlotte Riley Biography
Charlotte Frances Riley, born on December 29, 1981, is an English actress known for her roles in Easy Virtue (2008) as Sarah Hurst and ITV's adaptation of Wuthering Heights (2009) as Catherine Earnshaw. Born in Grindon, County Durham, Riley attended Teesside High School and later studied at St Cuthbert's Society, Durham, where she was part of the sketch comedy group, the Durham Revue. She holds a degree in English and Linguistics. In 2004, Riley won the Sunday Times' Playwriting Award for her co-written play, Shaking Cecilia. She has appeared in films such as Edge of Tomorrow and has performed onstage at the Royal Court Theatre in The Priory.
