Cheryl Campbell Biography
Cheryl Campbell (born May 22, 1949) is an English actress known for her work in stage, film, and television. She gained recognition for her role in the BBC drama series 'Pennies From Heaven' (1978) opposite Bob Hoskins. Campbell received critical acclaim and won the 1980 BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress for her performances in 'Testament of Youth' and 'Malice Aforethought'. She also won the 1982 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Revival for her role in 'A Doll's House'. Campbell has appeared in notable films such as 'Chariots of Fire' (1981), 'Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes' (1984), and 'The Shooting Party' (1985). She studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and has worked in various repertory theatres including the Palace Theatre, Watford, Birmingham Rep, and the Citizens' Theatre, Glasgow.
