Chris Andersen

Christopher Claus Andersen, born on July 7, 1978, is an American former professional basketball player. Known by his nickname 'Birdman', Andersen started his career in the Chinese Basketball Association and American minor leagues before playing in the NBA for the Denver Nuggets and the New Orleans Hornets. In 2006, he received a two-year ban from the NBA for violating the league's drug policy, but was reinstated in 2008. Andersen won an NBA championship with the Miami Heat in 2013. He also played for Power in the Big3 league. Andersen is recognized as one of the few players to have attended Blinn College and make it to the NBA. He is the son of Danish immigrant Claus Andersen and Lin.
