Chris Corrigan
Chris Corrigan (born 1946) is an Australian businessman. He is best known for his role as the managing director of the Patrick Corporation until it was taken over in 2006. Born in country New South Wales, Corrigan received his education at Bowral High School, the Australian National University, and Harvard University. In his career, he developed a keen interest in marketing and media, acquiring new techniques in retail finance and introducing margin lending to Australia. Corrigan joined stockbroker Ord Minnett as an analyst in 1968 and later became the managing director of BT Australia. He formed a partnership with Peter Scanlon in 1990, establishing the Lang Corporation and later Patrick Corporation. Corrigan gained prominence for his involvement in the 1998 Australian waterfront dispute, where he attempted to replace the heavily unionised workforce with strikebreakers.
