Chris Evert, born Christine Marie Evert on December 21, 1954, is a former world No. 1 tennis player from the United States. Known as Chris Evert Lloyd from 1979 to 1987, she has a remarkable career with 18 major singles titles, including seven French Open titles and six US Open titles. Evert held the world No. 1 ranking for a total of 260 weeks and was the year-end world No. 1 singles player seven times. Alongside her greatest rival Martina Navratilova, Evert dominated women's tennis in the 1970s and 1980s. She reached the semifinals or better in 52 of the 56 majors she played, a record for women's tennis.
