Chris Greening is a renowned biochemist, microbiologist, and academic, best known for his groundbreaking research on the microbial metabolism of trace gases. He currently serves as a Professor of Microbiology and leads the One Health Microbiology group and Global Change Research Program at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Greening has made significant contributions to the understanding of the basis, role, and significance of trace gas metabolism by microorganisms, including hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. Throughout his career, he has been recognized with prestigious fellowships from organizations such as CSIRO, Australian Research Council, and National Health and Medical Research Council. In 2022, he was honored with the Fenner Medal from the Australian Academy of Science.
