Chris Hayes

Christopher Loffredo Hayes (born February 28, 1979) is an American political commentator, television news anchor, activist, and author. He is well-known for hosting All In with Chris Hayes, a weekday news and opinion television show on MSNBC, as well as his previous show, Up with Chris Hayes. Hayes is also the host of the weekly MSNBC podcast, Why Is This Happening?. Additionally, he serves as an editor-at-large for The Nation magazine. Born in the Norwood neighborhood of Riverdale in the Bronx, Hayes is the son of Roger and Geri Hayes. With a heritage of Italian and Irish Catholic ancestry, Hayes grew up in a family that valued community organizing and public service.
