    Chris Long, born Christopher Howard Long on March 28, 1985, is an American former football defensive end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. He is the son of Hall of Fame defensive end Howie Long and the older brother of NFL guard Kyle Long. Long played college football at the University of Virginia and was awarded the Ted Hendricks Award during his senior year. He was drafted second overall by the St. Louis Rams in the 2008 NFL Draft and later played for the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles, winning a Super Bowl title with each team. In addition, Long received the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award in 2018 for his charitable contributions, including donating his entire 2017 salary to various charities.
