Chris Tomlinson is a retired English long jumper who was born on September 15, 1981 in Middlesbrough. He competed for Middlesbrough AC and later for Newham and Essex Beagles. Tomlinson began his athletic career at the age of 10, focusing on the 100m and 200m events. However, he decided to specialize in long jump in his early teens. In 2002, just months after recovering from a wrist injury, he broke the British long jump record with a jump of 8.27m. Tomlinson went on to represent Britain at the Olympics in 2004, 2008, and 2012. Throughout his career, he was known for his impressive jumping ability and his record-breaking performances.
