Christian Arthur Edgar 'Tim' O'Brien (9 January 1914 – 17 February 2001) was a British exploration geologist and author. He is known for his involvement in the discovery of the Chogha Zanbil ziggurat in Southern Iran in 1936. O'Brien had a notable career with the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (now British Petroleum) and served as the chairman of the boards and general managing director of the Iranian Oil Operating Companies from 1967 to 1971. In recognition of his contributions to the oil industry, he was appointed a CBE.
