Christopher Webb
Christopher Rahere Webb (1886-1966) was an English stained glass designer. He was educated at Rugby School and the Slade School of Art, and apprenticed to Sir Ninian Comper. Webb's glass work is highly regarded, with some of his finest pieces dating from 1935 to 1948 at Sheffield Cathedral. His signature, a Saint Christopher with his initials, is typically found in the bottom right-hand corner of his windows. Known for his accuracy of historical detail, clarity in conveying theological ideas, and use of clear glass, scrolls, and foliage, Webb's work stands out as some of the finest of the first half of the 20th century.
