Clayton Edward Kershaw is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on March 19, 1988, Kershaw has been a left-handed starting pitcher for the Dodgers since his debut in 2008. With a career earned run average (ERA) of 2.48 and a walks plus hits per inning pitched rate (WHIP) of 1.00, he holds the lowest marks among starters in the live-ball era with a minimum of 1,000 innings pitched. Kershaw is a ten-time All-Star, three-time National League (NL) Cy Young Award winner, and the 2014 NL Most Valuable Player. He achieved his first World Series championship in 2020. Known as one of the greatest pitchers of all time, Kershaw has been a dominant force in baseball throughout his career.
