Colin Allen
Colin Eric Allen, born on 9 May 1938, is an English blues drummer and songwriter. Allen initially worked in aircraft engineering for ten years before pursuing his passion for jazz. He began playing drums at the age of 18 and received training from local drummer Jack Horwood as well as Philly Joe Jones. Allen's early stage performances included participating in a skiffle contest at a cinema, and he later played with jazz musicians in Bournemouth. In 1963, he joined Zoot Money's Big Roll Band, which included Andy Summers. Allen has collaborated with notable artists such as Bob Dylan, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy Williamson, Memphis Slim, and many others.
