Colin Tarrant Biography
Colin Tarrant (14 June 1952 – 26 January 2012) was an English actor known for his role as Inspector Andrew Monroe in ITV's The Bill from 1990 to 2002. Born in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, Tarrant studied English and Drama at Exeter University before pursuing a career in acting. He began at the Northcott Theatre in Exeter and later joined the Medium Fair Community Theatre Company. Tarrant also worked with Peter Cheeseman's company at the Victoria Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent, as well as Foco Novo, Shared Experience, the RSC, and the Leicester Phoenix Arts Centre. His first major television role was in the BBC miniseries The Rainbow (1988), and he went on to make numerous appearances on other TV programs.
