Colin Ward
Colin Ward (14 August 1924 – 11 February 2010) was a British anarchist writer and editor. Born in Wanstead, Essex, Ward attended Ilford County High School before working as a draughtsman and a builder's assistant. In 1942, he was conscripted into the army and served as a sapper in the Royal Engineers. During this time, Ward became involved with the Glasgow Anarchist Group and subscribed to the anti-militarist anarchist newspaper War Commentary. Known as a pioneering social historian, Ward has been hailed as one of the greatest anarchist thinkers of the past half century. He made significant contributions to the field of anarchism through his writings and editorship.
