Craig Gardner Biography
Craig Gardner (born 25 November 1986) is an English former professional footballer and current football coach. He made a total of 260 appearances in the Premier League and 67 appearances in the Championship during his playing career. Gardner started his career at Aston Villa before moving to city rivals Birmingham City for the 2010-2011 season, where he won the 2011 League Cup. He also played for Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion before returning to Birmingham City in 2017. In 2020, Gardner retired from playing and joined Birmingham City's coaching staff as a first-team coach. He later took on the role of technical director at the club in June 2021.
