Craig Melvin

Craig Melvin is an American broadcast journalist and anchor at NBC News and MSNBC. He was born on May 20, 1979, in Columbia, South Carolina. Melvin began his career as a high school student, working as an 'Our Generation Reporter' at NBC-affiliate WIS-TV in Columbia. He later joined NBC News in 2011 and became a news anchor on NBC's Today in August 2018. In October 2018, he became a co-host of the Today Third Hour and was made permanent in January 2019. Melvin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in government from Wofford College. He is also known for being the first African-American president of Key Club International in 1996.
