Craig Silverman
Craig Silverman is a Canadian journalist and reporter at ProPublica. He is well-known for his expertise in 'fake news' and has a strong background in fact-checking and media inaccuracy. Silverman founded the 'Regret the Error' blog in 2004 and authored a book of the same name in 2009, which won the Arthur Rowse Award for Press Criticism. He has worked as the media editor of BuzzFeed and the head of BuzzFeed's Canadian division. Additionally, Silverman joined the Poynter Institute for Media Studies as an adjunct faculty member in 2011. He co-founded the hoax and rumor tracking website Emergent and has co-authored a biography of hacker Michael Calce, known as MafiaBoy. Silverman holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Concordia University in Montreal and currently resides in Toronto.
