Curtis Theophilus Hill Jr. (born February 21, 1961) is an American lawyer and politician from the Republican Party. He served as the 43rd Attorney General of Indiana from 2017 to 2021, becoming the first African American to hold a statewide office in Indiana. Hill graduated from Indiana University and Indiana University School of Law. Before his political career, he worked as a lawyer in private practice and part-time prosecutor. He was elected as Elkhart County prosecutor in 2002 and served four terms until his election as state attorney general in 2016. During his tenure, Hill held conservative positions, opposing marijuana legalization and advocating against COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Hill faced allegations of sexual misconduct in 2018, which he has denied.
