Cynthia Carter

Cynthia Carter (born 30 January 1959) is a Reader in the School of Journalism, Media and Culture at Cardiff University. She is also the co-founding editor of the journal Feminist Media Studies. In addition to her academic work, Carter has served as the guest editor for special issues of notable journals such as Journalism: Theory, Practice and Criticism and the Journal of Children and Media. From 2003 to 2005, she held the position of chair of the Feminist Scholarship Division of the International Communication Association. Cynthia Carter has made significant contributions to the field of media studies, particularly in the areas of gender, news, and media representation.
