Dan Studney Biography
Dan Studney (born January 30, 1941) is an American former track and field athlete who specialized in the javelin throw. He achieved his greatest success by winning a gold medal for the United States at the 1963 Pan American Games. Studney set his personal best throw using the old javelin model in Santa Barbara, California on March 30, 1963. Throughout his career, he was a member of the Santa Clara Valley Youth Village club and competed for the San Jose State Spartans collegiate team under coach Bert Bonanno. Studney, originally from Hillside, New Jersey, graduated from Hillside High School in 1959, where he excelled in various sports including football, wrestling, and track and field.
