Daniel Parsons

Daniel Parsons is a renowned expert in geosciences and research. He currently serves as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at Loughborough University. With a personal title of Professor in Geosciences, he has made significant contributions to the field. Previously, Parsons was the founding Director of the Energy and Environment Institute and a professor of process sedimentology at the University of Hull. He holds visiting professorships at the University of Illinois (USA) and Can Tho University (Vietnam). Parsons obtained his PhD from the University of Sheffield in 2004. His research focuses on flow processes and sediment transport in rivers, coasts, estuaries, and the deep sea. He has also conducted notable work on flood hazard and risk, as well as the leakage and transport of plastics in aquatic environments.
