Danny Hogan
Danny Hogan, also known as 'Dapper' Danny Hogan, was an Irish-American organized crime figure and political fixer. Born around 1880 in California to Irish Catholic parents, Hogan gained notoriety as the boss of Saint Paul, Minnesota's Irish Mob during Prohibition. Despite his distaste for unnecessary violence, his former associates, Lithuanian Jewish gangster Harry Sawyer and corrupt police chief Big Tom Brown, took over his position after Hogan's murder by car bomb in 1928. Their collusion with the Dillinger and Barker-Karpis Gangs led to infamous crimes during the Depression era. Hogan's life and activities played a part in the rise of the Federal Bureau of Investigation under J. Edgar Hoover.
