Darren Christopher Clarke (born 14 August 1968) is a professional golfer from Northern Ireland. He has played on the PGA Tour Champions, European Tour, and PGA Tour. With 21 worldwide tournament wins, he has found success on various golf tours including the PGA Tour, European Tour, Japan Golf Tour, and Sunshine Tour. In 2011, Clarke achieved his biggest victory by winning the Open Championship at Royal St George's in England, marking his first major win after more than 20 years and 54 attempts. He has also won two World Golf Championship events, including the 2000 WGC-Andersen Consulting Match Play Championship, where he defeated Tiger Woods in the final. Clarke has been ranked in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking for 43 weeks between 2000 and 2002 and is currently the seventh highest career money winner on the European Tour.
