Dave Barclay
Dave Barclay (July 5, 1920 – October 28, 2009) was an American amateur golfer known for his accomplishments in the 1940s. Hailing from Rockford, Illinois, Barclay played for the Michigan Wolverines golf team during his time at the University of Michigan. In 1947, he emerged victorious in the 50th annual NCAA intercollegiate golf championship held in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Prior to his college years, Barclay had already showcased his talent, helping lead Rockford High School's golf team to a tie for third place in Illinois in 1938. Additionally, Barclay served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II, flying 54 combat missions as a bomber navigator.
