Dave Boyle
Dave Boyle (born 1982) is an American director, writer, editor, and actor. Known for his movies with primarily Asian or Asian-American casts, Boyle has directed films such as Big Dreams Little Tokyo (2006), White on Rice (2009), Surrogate Valentine (2011), Daylight Savings (2012), and Man from Reno (2014), which have received critical acclaim and won awards at various film festivals. He studied Japanese at Brigham Young University and completed his Mormon missionary work in Australia. Boyle made his directorial debut with Big Dreams Little Tokyo, in which he also starred as the character 'Boyd'. His films often draw inspiration from his experiences living in different locations, with characters based on people he encountered during his time in Japantown, Sydney, Australia.
