Dave Marr

Dave Marr (December 27, 1933 – October 5, 1997) was an American professional golfer and sportscaster. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Marr attended St. Thomas High School and went on to study at Rice Institute and the University of Houston. He turned professional at the age of 19 and started his career at Westwood Country Club in New Jersey. Marr gained recognition when he became an assistant club pro to Claude Harmon at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York. He began playing regularly on the PGA tour in 1960 and secured his first professional win at the Sam Snead Festival. Marr's most notable achievement was winning the 1965 PGA Championship.
