Davey Johnson
David Allen Johnson (born January 30, 1943) is a former American professional baseball player and manager. He played as a second baseman from 1965 to 1978, notably with the Baltimore Orioles dynasty that won multiple championships in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Johnson played for the Orioles from 1965 to 1975 and also spent two seasons in the Nippon Professional Baseball league before returning to Major League Baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs from 1977 to 1978. He was a three-time Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner and was selected to four All-Star Game teams. As a manager, Johnson led the New York Mets to victory in the 1986 World Series and won the American League's Manager of the Year Award in 1997 with the Baltimore Orioles.
