David Coon Biography
David Charles Coon (born October 28, 1956) is a Canadian politician and environmental activist. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick in the 2014 provincial election, representing the electoral district of Fredericton South. Coon is the first elected Green Member of the Legislative Assembly in New Brunswick history and the third Green parliamentarian elected in Canada. He has been the Leader of the Green Party of New Brunswick since 2012. Coon has a background in biology and worked for 33 years as an environmental educator, organizer, activist, and manager, with 28 of those years spent with the Conservation Council of New Brunswick. He resides in Fredericton with his wife and two daughters.
