David Correia
David Correia is an American scholar and activist, known for his work as an associate professor of American Studies at the University of New Mexico. With a focus on the relationship between culture, politics, and the environment, Correia completed his undergraduate studies in Anthropology at the University of Iowa and obtained a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Kentucky in 2006. Prior to his current position, he taught at the University of Maine. Correia's expertise on police reform in Albuquerque has led to frequent quotes and interviews, particularly regarding the city's issues with excessive force. In recognition of his teaching skills, he received the University of New Mexico's 'Arts and Sciences Award for Teaching Excellence' in 2012.
