David Garrett

David Christian Bongartz, known professionally as David Garrett, is a German classical and crossover violinist. Born on September 4, 1980, Garrett showed an interest in the violin at a young age and began playing at the age of four. He quickly excelled in the instrument and won his first competition at the age of five. At the age of seven, he studied violin at the Lübeck Conservatoire and made his debut at the Festival Kissinger Sommer when he was nine. By the age of 12, he started working with renowned violinist Ida Haendel. Garrett later enrolled at the Royal College of Music in London but left after the first semester. He has since become a successful recording artist and has achieved crossover success with his violin performances.
