David Haley Biography
David B. Haley (born October 29, 1958) is a Democratic member of the Kansas Senate, representing the 4th district since 2001. Prior to serving in the Senate, he was a Kansas Representative from 1995 to 2001. Haley, the son of politician George W. Haley and nephew of Pulitzer Prize winner Alex Haley, ran unsuccessfully for Kansas Secretary of State in 2002 and 2006. He is known for being fiscally conservative and advocating for stronger penalties for animal cruelty and campaign finance reform. In addition to his political career, Haley has served on various legislative committees, including Judiciary, Public Health and Welfare, and Joint Committee on Children's Issues.
