David Hight

David William Hight is a senior consultant at the Geotechnical Consulting Group, a company specializing in geotechnical engineering. Born on 17 August 1943, Hight obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Imperial College London. He later earned his PhD in 1983 from the same institution, focusing on soil mechanics. Hight has a wealth of teaching experience, having served as a lecturer at Imperial College from 1975 to 1983. He has also held visiting professor positions at Imperial College, the National University of Singapore, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Hight is renowned for his expertise in minimizing sample disturbance and evaluating sample quality, contributing to a better understanding of soil behavior.
