David Iglesias

David Claudio Iglesias (born 1958) is an American attorney from Albuquerque, New Mexico. He served as the United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico from August 2001 to December 2006. Iglesias was appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He was one of eight U.S. attorneys fired by the Bush administration in 2006, but a review by the U.S. Department of Justice Inspector General found that his firing was politically motivated. Iglesias retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps in 2014 after 30 years of active and reserve service. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Wheaton Center for Faith, Politics and Economics in Illinois and is the Jean and E. Floyd Kvamme Associate Professor of Politics and Law.
