David Jahn

David Jahn is a neo-burlesque impresario, filmmaker, and musician based in Prague, Czech Republic. He is best known for his role as Sonny Vargas, the louche MC persona of the stage troupe Prague Burlesque, which he founded in 2007. Jahn has developed the troupe into a local institution and an international touring company. Inspired by the Weimar culture of interwar Berlin and the Velvet Hammer Burlesque troupe, he aims to revive and popularize the concept of burlesque. Jahn adheres to a strict set of rules in the genre, never revealing a woman's entire nude body, but indicating what lays beyond her undergarments. His work has brought a resurgence of burlesque to Prague, where the last performance took place in 1910.More
