David Lees
David Lees (1881–1934) was a Scottish expert in public health, known for his work on the diagnosis and treatment of venereal disease. Born in Ayrshire, Scotland, Lees studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, specializing in public health. He lectured on venereal disease at the university and provided advice on the subject at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. During World War I, Lees served as a Regimental Medical Officer for the Welsh Guards and later the Irish Guards, earning the Distinguished Service Order for his actions and being mentioned in dispatches. He lived in Leith, Edinburgh, and made significant contributions to the field of public health.
