David Maine

David Maine (born November 28, 1963) is an American novelist. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and grew up in Farmington, Connecticut. Maine attended Oberlin College (1981–1985) and the University of Arizona (1988–1991), where he earned a Master's of Fine Arts in creative writing. He later relocated to Morocco in 1995 and Pakistan in 1998. In 2012, Maine moved to western Massachusetts and began teaching creative writing at Smith College while working full-time in the human services field. Maine has been married to novelist Uzma Aslam Khan since 1994. He has contributed his early short stories to literary magazines such as Other Voices.
