David Michie

David Michie OBE, RSA, PSSA, FRSA, RGI (30 November 1928 – 24 August 2015) was a Scottish artist of international stature. Born in Saint-Raphaël, France, Michie was the third son of architect and painter James Beattie Michie and renowned Scottish artist Anne Redpath. After the family's return to Hawick, Scotland, Michie attended Hawick High School before studying at Edinburgh College of Art. Michie's artistic career spanned several decades, during which he achieved significant recognition and accolades for his work. His contributions to the art world include numerous exhibitions and commissions, establishing himself as a prominent figure in Scottish art. David Michie passed away in 2015, leaving behind a legacy of artistic excellence.
