David Shields Biography
David Shields is an American author known for his extensive body of work, which includes twenty-four books. Some of his notable works include Reality Hunger, The Thing About Life Is That One Day You'll Be Dead, Black Planet, and Other People: Takes & Mistakes. He gained recognition for his book Reality Hunger, which was named one of the most important books of the past decade by Lit Hub in 2019. In addition to his writing, Shields has also ventured into film. He co-wrote and co-starred in the film adaptation of his book I Think You're Totally Wrong: A Quarrel, released in 2017. He also wrote, produced, and directed the documentary Lynch: A History in 2019. Shields continues to explore different mediums, with a new film titled How We Got Here and a companion volume of the same name set to be released in January 2024.
