David Thewlis, born David Wheeler on March 20, 1963, is an English actor and filmmaker. He has gained recognition for his versatile acting skills, appearing in various genres in both film and television. Thewlis has been honored with the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor and has received nominations for two BAFTA Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. He made his film debut in 1987's 'Little Dorrit' and went on to star in notable films such as 'Life is Sweet' (1990), 'Naked' (1993), for which he won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor, 'Harry Potter' franchise (2004–2011), and 'Wonder Woman' (2017).
