David Tress Biography
David Tress is a British painter known for his deeply personal interpretations of landscapes in and around his home in Pembrokeshire, southwest Wales. He combines collage, impasto, painting, and drawing techniques to create abstract expressionist works. Born in Wembley, northwest London, Tress studied at Harrow College of Art and Nottingham Trent University. In 1976, he moved to Pembrokeshire and has since resided there. Tress's artistic journey began with an interest in painter Ben Nicholson and watercolors by John Singer Sargent. He later discovered the Abstract Expressionists, whose works continue to influence him. In addition to painting, Tress has also explored film, installation, and performance art.
