Dawn Staley

Dawn Staley, born on May 4, 1970, is an accomplished American basketball player and coach. She is currently the head coach for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Staley had a successful playing career, winning three Olympic gold medals with Team USA and being named one of the Top 15 players in WNBA history. She was an influential point guard for the University of Virginia, where she played under coach Debbie Ryan. Staley also played professionally in the American Basketball League and the WNBA. In addition to her playing career, Staley embarked on a coaching journey, first with the Temple University Owls women's basketball team while still playing in the WNBA. Staley's coaching skills led her to be elected to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012 and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013.
