Dennis Kelly

Dennis Kelly is a British writer and producer known for his work in theatre, television, and film. He gained recognition for his play DNA, which became a core set-text for GCSE in 2010 and has been studied by around 400,000 students annually. Kelly also wrote the book for Matilda the Musical, which received multiple awards, including a Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical. As a screenwriter, he is known for co-creating and co-writing the sitcom Pulling, the conspiracy thriller Utopia, and the thriller series The Third Day. Additionally, Kelly wrote the screenplay for the film Black Sea. He was born and raised in Barnet, North London and attended Finchley Catholic High School.
